Sandals

Shoes have been a growing interest of mine. When I got the chance to attend a shoe-making class in Valparaiso, Chile, where I lived for half a year, I couldn’t let the opportunity pass.

The class was hosted by a shoe designer and maker from Buenos Aires who liked to experiment with material combinations between, for example, leather, fur and synthetic materials.

Her interest in material experimentation influenced my design process - my design has engaged a lot of people because they are not what sandals usually look like. It was a great learning experience, and I’m pleased to have made some working sandals that are unique to other sandals out there.
