Football For The Goals - Sustainability strategy for the Top football league in Norway in association with the UN

Football for the Goals (FFTG) is United Nations' first sustainability project within Football, providing a platform for the global football community to engage with and advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The process is lead by ÆRA.

We did this project together with the association for top football in Norway (NTF) and the UN. Our aim was to use the UNs SDG goals as direction when making NTFs own sustainability strategy and finding out what the top football clubs in Norway can do for sustainability.

My role was to organise and host workshops with the clients, Gather data from the clubs and sort it. Be in control of all insights in the Miro board. And visualize the directions, presentations and reports.

Project length: 6 months

Where: Æra Strategic Innovation

When: 2023

117 SDG activities

We sent out surveys to all the top football clubs on how they are working on sustainable activities and what SDG goals they would put them under. We sorted the 117 activities under the 17 goals to see what is already done. Where do we want to focus our work, and how we can create something together based on this insight.

The plan

We created this report with the 7 main areas the top clubs will work on sustainability. those directions was sorted within the SDGs and with the ESG regulations.

Workshops

We had several workshops where we gathered insights and used insights to make good directions on the way forward, and on what main areas of sustainability we wanted to work within, both social and environmental.

Examples from the report

Beneath you can see som examples from the report showing some of the areas of activities NTF wants to work on and what activities specifically will be done under each category. You can also see how this will be taken out in a commercial and sense like how sponsor can talk about this project on their surfaces of communication.
