Entre Øyer - Mobility project in a mountainous location in Norway

In Øyer, Norway, "Entré Øyer" redefines transportation, connecting residents and visitors seamlessly. Anticipating a 50% increase in visitors by 2030, Øyer addresses the strain of seasonal tourism with a circular mobility concept.

Developed by ÆRA and Ihuga Architects, this initiative encompasses 16 projects, focusing on reducing car usage and enhancing accommodation access. The plan utilizes existing infrastructure, cutting emissions and revitalizing services.

Øyer municipality

Funding combines income from mobility solutions, developer agreements, and municipal grants. "Entré Øyer" stands not just as a transport project but a transformative model, promoting sustainable enjoyment of nature in mountain destinations.

My role

I designed several sketches for apps that could be used for the destination. The apps purpose was to guide visitors around the area and make it seamless to use the mobility and activity offerings in the area.

Hafjell Hub

One of the main services that we developed as a concept was Hafjell Hub. Hafjell is the main ski resort in the area, and we saw that it was a need for a center point for all the mobility and activity offerings in the area. A place you could talk to experts about the services. a place where all mobility services was accessible and where you could rent equipment and pick up keys and groceries.

Actor map

I was responsible for mapping all the actors in the projects and visualize which sector each actors was in using colours. Also relevent user groups was added to the same map.

User journey mapping

Based on a former research paper done on visitors to the area I created this and several other user journey maps. This was to visualize to the contenders in the project and the contenders in the workshops how the journey was for user to the area now, and what challanges the visitors where facing and what possibilities this could give us in this project.

Mobility network

ÆRA and me and the architect firm that we collaborated with created this map showing the plan for the different mobility services that would surround the area and be connected so that visitors could get around more easily without a car.
