Too Good To Go - A Food Saving Stamp, and other concepts to prevent food waste

This project is called "Redningsøyeblikket". It is a joint initiative across the food industry to reduce food waste in households. This is achieved through Too Good To Go's food-saving tips on packaging. The labels contain messages designed to encourage creative thinking about what can be done with leftovers, along with tips for better food preservation.

The project's goal is to inspire people to cut down on food waste at home and provide creative ideas for using up leftovers instead of throwing them away. Households account for almost half of the food waste in Norway. To achieve the goal of halving food waste by 2030, it is crucial for households to be actively involved in the initiative.

My role

I worked as a designer on the project and helped organise and run the workshops we had with Too good to go. In the workshops we tried to figure out what campaign we wanted to execute that would turn into the most food saved in peoples homes. We decided on the food saving stickers.

I also designed the final graphic design and dimension of the sticker, testing it in different sizes and typographies to see what worked best.

We also sent out stickers for several users to test at home on their on products to see how their family and partners would react to the campaign.

Colaborations with many actors

Many different grocery suppliers contributed in the project and it was a joint effort from my team to get all the different grocery actors to be on the same page, understand the cause and effect of the project and to agree on a certain look and message of the final result.

Ideation and concepts

Here is a photo of the first workshop we had just getting down as many ideas as possible. I then organized the ideas into clusters and created 6 concepts. These I visualized in a colourful way and wrote a short text explaining each concept.
